Fanno Creek Park
Meet Erik
While growing up as a kid I would only go indoors for eating and sleeping during the summer months. I loved being outside playing with neighbors and friends. Often, I would spend many of my weekend days at my older sibling’s baseball games. While my brothers were playing their games, I was usually running all around the park with a group of kids.
Through the years, I have maintained my love for the outdoors and specifically my love for parks. I will often seek out new parks to explore, or sports parks to walk around and watch youth sport leagues in action. As an adult, I have realized that parks offer many different benefits. For me they offer a place to recreate and play soccer, tennis or pickleball. They offer a place to wind down after a long day. They even offer a place to clear your head during the workday.
I have had the opportunity to go to every park in Tigard and I can say that Tigard offers a great variety of neighborhood, nature, and community parks. I am fortunate to work so close to a park and trail. I walk through Fanno Creek park almost every day. Just being able to walk through and enjoy nature, or smiling and saying hello to people I walk by, it is so refreshing. Parks are great for recharging the battery.
