Share Your Story - A Celebration of Culture, Heritage and History

We are looking for personal stories to feature at Tigard’s Outdoor Museum, a commemoration of the many cultures that have helped shape the region’s history.

The city has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to create an Outdoor museum that includes cultural histories as well as three large public artworks. Stories gathered from the community will be memorialized in steel sculptures along the ¾-mile Tigard Street Heritage Trail, and some may become the inspiration for the public art works.

We are looking for unique stories from people across diverse cultures, communities, and experiences.

Please share:

* Stories highlighting historically marginalized or underrepresented communities.

* Stories featuring individual or familial narratives.

* Special consideration given to stories that relate in some way to railroads. Examples could be immigrants who built railroads, braceros or other migrant workers who moved by rail, communities that were displaced or interred by railroad, families who migrated or sold goods by rail, etc.
