The <a href="https://www.tigard-or.gov/your-government/departments/community-development/transportation-safe-streets-for-tigard/traffic-calming">Tigard Neighborhood Traffic Calming program</a> aims to improve the safety and livability in residential neighborhoods in the City of Tigard. Traffic calming improvements slow down car traffic to improve safety for all road users. This program will be guided by community input and by Tigard&rsquo;s commitment to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries using a safe systems approach to prioritize transportation safety. Tigard HOME (Housing, Opportunity, Mobility, and Ease) is a new planning project that aims to provide community members with more options for entertainment, employment, amenities, services, and housing.

<a href="https://www.tigard-or.gov/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/91/183" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bagan Park</a> is a future neighborhood park located off Greenburg Road near SW Cascade Ave. The property was purchased in 2013 with funding from the 2010 Park Bond. A <a href="https://www.tigard-or.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/1274/637697210082730000" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">conceptual plan</a> has been created to guide the development of the park. Some of the key findings of the plan include:<ul><li>There are three dominant traits of the site: a small grove of mature deciduous trees, an open meadow, and the Ash Creek stream corridor with its associated pond and wetlands.</li><li>About an acre of this 8.25-acre future neighborhood park could be developed. The rest of the site, which comprises a small creek and wetlands, will remain green space.</li><li>The site is best suited for small group activities and passive recreation.</li></ul>Funding has become available through the 2019 Metro Parks and Open Space Bond, which will allow Tigard to complete a detailed design of the park. This means the park can be bid on and constructed in 2025-2026.
