Tigard Safe Streets Action Plan

The City of Tigard is kicking off its Safe Streets Action Plan, a process that will guide the City’s actions and investments to improve safety for people walking, biking, taking transit, and driving.

This planning process relies on the input of community members (like you!) as the City develops strategies to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries in an equitable, climate-friendly, and accessible way for everyone.

Schedule/ Timeline

The planning process for this plan began in June 2024 and will wrap up spring/summer 2025. After that, the City will work on implementing the plan.

Map of High Injury Corridors and Equity Communities

3 months

What are High Injury Corridors?

High Injury Corridors represent the streets that see more crashes than your typical street. By focusing on these streets and the reasons behind these crashes, the City can address safety holistically. (red lines shown on map)

How do Equity and Safety Connect?

Equity and safety go hand-in-hand. People can face different risks when traveling in Tigard depending on their identities, so this planning process will focus on the places and people most likely to be impacted by crashes.

By focusing on equity, the City is making improvements that will benefit community members who have been historically marginalized or overly burdened by our current transportation system. (pink areas shown on map)

What do you think?

Do these streets reflect your experiences on Tigard’s streets? Add a pin dot where you feel unsafe when you are traveling and leave a comment about why.

Click on the map to begin. Once you have the map open, you can click on the (+) button to choose a pin. After you drop a pin, add a comment about why you feel unsafe.
